Roses have been used for generations in skincare products. With their natural anti-inflammatory and scar-reducing properties rose oil reduces redness and calms the skin. Rose extracts have high vitamin C levels and help stimulate collagen. They also have high vitamin E so are very moisturising.
According to Deepak Chopra; “The sugars and natural oils found in rose petals trap moisture in your skin, making your skin look smoother and softer—just like the beautiful rose petals themselves.”
Roses are also claimed to calm rosacea and have been used to alleviate sunburn.
Geranium oil was used by the Egyptians for ‘beautiful and radiant skin’ and is claimed to balance hormones, relieve stress, reduce depression, minimise inflammation, improve circulation, alleviate the effects of menopause, improve dental health (don’t sloosh our face oil!), reduce blood pressure and benefit the health of your skin (yay!).
